Placements
The students of the Centre for Media and Cultural Studies constitute the Placement committee in the centre. The course’s emphasis on both theory and practice have enabled the options of varied professions that the student can opt from. Production has offered a spectrum of options for students of media and cultural studies as is evident from some of them having made career options of film making, freelance documentary film making, television and radio. The placement committee consists of a representative from the senior and junior batches to coordinate the placement process, and the faculty for any facilitation as and when requested of them. With every successive batch of students going out of the centre the avenues explored for a career by them have just widened. Some students have taken up further education in pursuing an MPhil in Cultural studies whereas some have joined organisations that document varied aspects of a community’s cultural practices.
